Uncover
our story

I am Bec Fear. I am a triathlete, full-time triathlon coach and personal trainer with over a decade worth of experience. I am passionate about introducing beginners to the world of triathlon as well as helping ambitious middle of the pack athletes continue to improve their capabilities to achieve their personal sporting goals, whether that is a new personal best or reaching the world championship.

My favourite part of coaching is helping athletes move up in distance from completing sprint or Olympic distances up to finishing an IRONMAN70.3 or IRONMAN event. Similarly, for runners - helping them go from couch to running consistently and then finishing a 21.1km or 42.2km event.

Be the Fear came about as in triathlon, my biggest challenge is the swim, which means I have to chase down my competitors on the bike and run. Inspired by the way Anne Haug hunts down her rivals, I strive to become the fear—the one closing the gap, overtaking, and leaving nothing behind before the finish line!

Be The Fear is also about overcoming your fears to be a stronger person and athlete. Fear is a natural part of growth. Be The Fear is about embracing the challenges, pushing through the discomfort, and knowing that every moment of fear is an opportunity to grow stronger. It's about facing what seems impossible and proving to yourself that you can do it.

What Athletes Are Saying

  • I just want to say that Bec you are an amazing personal trainer. With your encouragement and perseverance you have managed to get me back in the gym and on my bike. Your program has already started to show improvements in my fitness. The improvement in my bike training is fantastic. Feeling better and stronger than I have in years. I know I have set a goal for next year and with your training I feel that I will achieve that goal. Thanks for everything.

    Barry.

    Cyclist and Strength

  • Has a font of knowledge in both Triathlon and Strength training, also is quite down to earth and is willing to put the time in to help

    Strength and Run.

  • I would just like to thank Bec for her time and patience, I have had many PT's over the last 15 years and have found Bec to be the best. She has taken more time than any other PT with my initial apptointment and then developing a program that would suit my abilities. In the last 6 months my fitness has improved immensly, my mobility (which at 70) was starting to deteriorate has improved and I feel 10 years younger. Bec has done both a strength program and bike for me and although sometimes it seems like hard work, the improvements that I have seen in myself have amazed me. Thank you for all your hard work.
